This is the 416 Acre Lampson Brook Farmstead in Belchertown, MA
This is the site. The farm once served as the Belchertown State School Farm. Now it is the home of the New England Small Farm Institute (NESFI). On September 10, 2011, the farm will host the Belchertown Country Craft Show. The show proceeds will help fund programs in the Agricultural Department at Smith Vocational High School in Northampton and at NESFI.
NESFI is located 2 minutes (.8 mile) from the Belchertown Common on scenic Jackson Street.
We plan to hold this event outdoors and take advantage of the last days of summer. We have a large area of grass available as well as plenty of parking. If weather threatens we have two barns available for use but space and lighting is limited. If severe weather is verified the rain date will be September 11, 2011. Notification of a rain date will be at about 7:00 P.M. on Friday, September 9, by email. Light rain will allow limited indoor space in one barn.

NESFI is located minutes from Routes 9, 202, 21 and 181. MASS Pike access is about 10 miles South. Even though we are in a rural area there are several restaurants available within minutes of NESFI serving from 6:00 A.M. on.
We urge you to explore NESFI. Visit them at <www.smallfarm.org>

Smith Vocational and Agricultural School was originally funded by a grant from a charitable foundation started by Oliver Smith in 1845. The fund for the agricultural school became available in 1905 and the school opened in 1908.
Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School is a public high school for residents of Northampton and tuition students from all of Hampshire County on a "space available" basis. Students spend alternating weeks in shop and academic programs as they prepare for both a high school diploma and a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency. Graduates of Smith School are expected to meet academic standards, achieve occupational competency, develop ready-to-go work skills, and prepare for continuing education. Integration of technology in course work is encouraged, and students have access to state-of-the-art computer labs with Internet capability. A focus on the acquisition of key life skills—good work habits, reliability, self-confidence, resilience, problem-solving—serves to guide students in their personal growth.
